TTP LabTech helps TTP Group win the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade

Royston, UK – In recognition of its outstanding achievements, TTP Group plc., a leading independent technology and product development company, has secured the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category. This award was granted in recognition of TTP’s impressive annual export revenue of more than £20m − over 70% of its total income − and TTP are honoured to be recognised with one of the most respected business awards.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious in the UK for business performance, recognising and rewarding outstanding accomplishments by UK companies. Each year the presentations are made by the Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister who is assisted by an advisory committee that includes representatives of government, industry and commerce, as well as trade unions. The granting of this award for outstanding achievements was facilitated by TTP’s highly innovative technology.

This is the second Queen’s Award for TTP. In 1999, it was presented with the Technological Achievement award for ChemScan, an instrument that rapidly detects bacteria in water and food samples, which was developed and is manufactured by TTP LabTech, an operating division of TTP. Peter Taylor, CEO of TTP Group, commented on the recent success: “At a time when Asia is considered by some to be a dominant region for export of technology, we are proud to be a UK company bucking the trend and taking our technology to Japan, as well as to the rest of the world.”

In addition to the funded development work for clients, TTP also invests and develops its own technology, such as TTP LabTech’s range of instruments for the pharmaceutical industry. TTP LabTech contributes a third of TTP Group’s turnover with a significant proportion of its revenue coming from overseas. TTP LabTech’s products are designed to increase efficiency, effectiveness, flexibility and overall capability in key biopharmaceutical research processes including compound storage (comPOUND®), low volume liquid handling (mosquito®)and fluorescence detection (Acumen® eX3).
