mosquito® LCP syringe coupling

A knurled metal coupling for joining two Hamilton Gastight® Syringes, with very low dead volume, used in mixing the protein and monoolein to prepare the LCP mixture, either using TTP Labtech’s LCP mixer or manually

Sample evaporation can be a problem when dispensing very low volumes or volatile samples, causing inconsistent drop sizes, especially when environmental conditions and local humidity vary.

mosquito’s active humidity chamber reduces experimental inconsistencies caused by variation in the humidity in the environment, by offering the offering the following benefits:

  • accurate control of the relative humidity (RH) of each experiment
  • enables up to a 90% reduction in drop evaporation
  • it takes only a few minutes to reach high levels of humidity (80-90% RH)
  • precisely controlled form within mosquito software (version permitting)

LCP mixer

The LCP mixer has been designed to automatically mix protein and monooelin (MO) or other lipids into a lipidic cubic phase from two coupled syringes. It accepts any combination of 100 µL and 50 µL Hamilton Gastight syringes and any starting sample volume (high or low) in either syringe. The simple and robust design, offers easy loading and ‘on the fly’ adjustments of mix cycles without the need for a full calibration process. The mixer has a compact footprint of only 250 mm x 214 mm, saving vital bench space.

MX one

Mix any liquid in small wells with no risk of spillage.

The centrifugal forces generated in conventional plate shakers mean that the mixing speed must be limited to avoid liquid spilling from wells.  The MX one keeps the plate stationary, allowing for extremely fast mixing of even the most viscous solutions using high-speed oscillation of a disposable pin array.

After receiving numerous requests to integrate mosquito with other equipment such as plate sealers, peelers and stackers into a compact bench top workcell, we have developed the mosquito Plate Processor (MoPP) to allow unattended operating for long periods.

The system uses the popular PreciseFlex SCARA plate handling robot and Revolution scheduler, for easy reconfiguration and exceptional reliability. A variety of third party equipment can be integrated with any of our mosquito liquid handlers. Contact us if you have any specific needs or questions.
